Getting There

  From the heart of the Historic District, start at the intersection of Main Avenue and 8th Street. Head west on 8th Street for about 0.3 miles, passing by various shops and eateries along the way. Continue until you reach North Phillips Avenue. Turn left onto North Phillips Avenue, and you will see the 8th Street Bridge ahead. The walk should take approximately 10 minutes at a leisurely pace.

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations available in the Historic District. Start at the bike station closest to you, then head west on 8th Street. After about 0.3 miles, turn left onto North Phillips Avenue. The 8th Street Bridge will be directly ahead. Make sure to follow all traffic rules and use bike lanes where available. The bike rental may incur a small fee, typically around $5 for an hour.

  Although the Historic District is quite walkable, if you prefer not to walk, you can use the Sioux Falls Public Transit system. Check the latest bus routes that serve the Historic District. Typically, you can catch a bus from the nearest stop to your location that heads toward downtown Sioux Falls. Get off at the stop nearest to Phillips Avenue and 8th Street. From there, it’s a short walk to the 8th Street Bridge. Note that there may be a fare of around $1.50 for a single ride.
