If you are traveling by car in Spearfish Canyon, begin your journey by heading south on SD-85 from the town of Spearfish. Continue on SD-85 until you reach the junction with Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway (also known as Canyon Road). Turn left onto the Scenic Byway. Drive along the scenic route, enjoying the beautiful views and natural surroundings. After about 6 miles, keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Spearfish Mountain. You will need to park at one of the designated parking areas along the Scenic Byway to access hiking trails leading to Spearfish Mountain.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, check for local bus services that operate in Spearfish Canyon. As public transport options may be limited, it is advisable to contact the local transportation authority in advance. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop along the Scenic Byway, you will need to walk approximately 1-2 miles to reach the trailhead for Spearfish Mountain. Hiking
