Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from any location within Spearfish Canyon, head southeast on US-14A E. Continue on this road for approximately 8 miles until you reach the junction with US-85. Turn left onto US-85 N and continue for about 2 miles. Once you reach Spearfish, take exit 14 for I-90 E toward Sturgis. After about 1 mile, take exit 14B toward Spearfish. Continue on this road until you reach Recreation Ln, where you will turn right. The Spearfish Rec & Aquatics Center will be on your left at 122 Recreation Ln.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, start by finding the nearest bus stop in Spearfish Canyon. Depending on the availability of local shuttle services, check with the local transit authority for routes heading toward Spearfish. Once you arrive in Spearfish, you may need to transfer to a local bus that runs along US-85. Disembark at the nearest stop to Recreation Ln, and from there, it is a short walk (approximately 0.5 miles) to the Spearfish Rec & Aquatics Center.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can bike from Spearfish Canyon to the Spearfish Rec & Aquatics Center. Follow the same route as the car directions: start on US-14A E, transitioning to US-85 N. The round trip is approximately 20 miles, so ensure you are prepared for the ride. There are bike lanes along the roads, and upon reaching the center, there are bike racks available for parking.

• Walking

  If you are staying in a nearby location within Spearfish, walking to the Spearfish Rec & Aquatics Center is feasible. Start from the downtown area, head towards US-85 N, and follow the directions as mentioned for cars. It is about a 1.5-mile walk, which should take around 30 minutes. Make sure to stay on pedestrian pathways for safety.
