If you're starting from Gwangju Bus Terminal, exit the terminal and walk straight to the main road. Turn left onto the main street (Geumnam-ro). Continue walking until you reach the intersection with the traffic lights. Cross the road and continue straight down Geumnam-ro for about 1.5 kilometers. You'll pass several shops and cafes along the way. 5.18 Democracy Square will be on your left, just after you pass the Gwangju City Hall.

If you are near Gwangju Subway Station, take Line 1 (the Orange Line) towards Suwan. Disembark at the 'Gwangju City Hall' station, which is just a few stops away. After exiting the station, use Exit 1. Once outside, turn left onto Geumnam-ro, and 5.18 Democracy Square will be a short walk ahead on your right, after passing City Hall.

If you are near a bus stop, catch a bus that goes towards Dong-gu or Gwangju City Hall. You can use local bus services like Bus No. 18 or 46. Ask the driver to notify you when you reach the Gwangju City Hall stop. After getting off, walk straight along Geumnam-ro, and you will find 5.18 Democracy Square on your left after a short walk.
