If you are traveling by car, start from the main entrance of Jirisan National Park. Follow the signs toward Gurye. Drive approximately 20 km on Route 19 towards Gurye-gun. Turn left onto Hwangjeon-ro and continue for about 5 km. You will see signs for 화엄사. The parking lot is available near the temple. There may be a small parking fee.

For those using public transport, take a bus from the nearest station in Jirisan National Park to Gurye. The Gurye bus terminal is about 30 minutes away. From the Gurye bus terminal, catch bus No. 1 or 1-1, which will take you directly to 화엄사. The bus ride lasts about 20 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips to ensure you have a ride back.

If you are already within the hiking trails of Jirisan National Park, you can hike to 화엄사 대웅전. Follow the marked trails towards 화엄사, which is approximately a 3 km hike from the nearest trailhead.
