If you're traveling by car, start from the city center of Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province. Take Route 36 heading east and follow the signs to Goesan. After approximately 30 minutes, take the exit towards Goesan-gun and merge onto Route 1. Continue straight for about 10 km, then turn onto Hwayangdong-gil. Hwayang Valley is located at 202 Hwayangdong-gil, Cheongcheon-myeon, Goesan-gun. Please note that parking is available near the entrance of Hwayang Valley.

Public Transportation (Bus)
For public transportation, start at Cheongju Bus Terminal. Purchase a ticket for a bus heading to Goesan. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Goesan Bus Terminal, transfer to a local bus or taxi heading to Hwayang Valley. The local bus service may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance. If you opt for a taxi, it will take approximately 20 minutes and should cost around 10,000 KRW. Hwayang Valley is located at 202 Hwayangdong-gil, Cheongcheon-myeon, Goesan-gun.

Public Transportation (Train + Bus)
You can also take a train from Cheongju to Goesan Station. From Cheongju Station, board a train on the Jeongju Line to Goesan Station, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Goesan Station, take a local bus or taxi to Hwayang Valley. As with the bus option, the local bus schedule may vary, so it’s advisable to check in advance. A taxi from the station to Hwayang Valley will take about 15 minutes and cost around 8,000 KRW.
