Experience Janganmun Gate

Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are already in Jangan-gu, you can easily walk to Janganmun Gate. Head south on Jeongjo-ro street. Keep walking straight for about 10-15 minutes. You will see the gate at 910 Jeongjo-ro, Jangan-dong, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si. The gate is well-marked, so you won't miss it. The area around the gate is pedestrian-friendly.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    For those further away in the Jangan-gu area, you can take a local bus. Look for bus stops that display routes heading towards Paldal-gu. Board a bus that goes to 'Suwon Station' or 'Suwon Hwaseong Fortress' and get off at the 'Janganmun' stop. The fare is typically around 1,200 KRW for adults. From the bus stop, it is a short 5-minute walk to the gate.

  • Public Transport - Subway

    If you are near a subway station, take Line 1 (the dark blue line) to Suwon Station. Upon exiting the station, follow the signs towards the bus terminal and board a local bus that heads to 'Janganmun'. Alternatively, you can walk for about 25 minutes from the station to the gate, heading along Jeongjo-ro which will lead you directly to the gate.
