Walking
If you are in the city center of Alicante, start at the Plaza de los Luceros, which is a large roundabout known for its beautiful fountain. From there, head towards Avenida de Federico Soto and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida de la Estación. Turn left onto Avenida de la Estación and continue walking until you reach the train station, Estación de Alicante, on your right. From the train station, continue straight on Avenida de la Estación, which will turn into Paseo de Gómiz. After about 15 minutes of walking, you will see signs pointing towards Castillo de Santa Bárbara on your left. Follow the signs and walk up the hill; the castle is about a 10-minute walk from there.
Bus
To get to Castillo de Santa Bárbara by bus, go to the nearest bus stop near your location. You can catch the L3 or L4 bus that goes towards 'Castillo de Santa Bárbara'. Make sure to check the bus schedule, as they run frequently. The bus will take you directly to the entrance of the castle. Once you get off, follow the signs to the castle entrance.
Tram
If you prefer to take the tram, head to the nearest tram station, such as 'Mercado'. Take Line 1 (the red line) towards 'Bendix', and get off at the station 'El Campello'. From there, you can transfer to the L3 bus towards 'Castillo de Santa Bárbara'. The bus will take you to the castle entrance. Alternatively, if you want to enjoy a bit of walking, you can walk uphill from the tram station to the castle; it will take around 20-25 minutes.
