If you are situated in the city center of Alicante, head towards the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, which is the main square. From there, walk towards Calle de San Francisco and continue straight. You will soon come to the entrance of the Parque de la Ereta, which is a lovely park that leads up to the castle. Follow the pathways up the hill through the park, and you will reach the base of Castell de Santa Bàrbara. The walk offers beautiful views and is approximately 20 minutes.

From the city center, make your way to the nearest tram station, Mercado. Take the TRAM Line 1 (L1) towards 'Benduser' and get off at the 'Playa del Postiguet' stop. From there, walk towards the beach, and you will see signs pointing towards the castle. Ascend the hill towards Castillo de Santa Bàrbara, which should take about 15-20 minutes. The total travel time, including waiting for the tram, is around 40-50 minutes.
