Train
From central Barcelona, head to the Plaça de Catalunya train station. Take the R5 line towards Manresa. After about 1 hour, disembark at the Montserrat Aeri station. From there, you can either take the cable car or the rack railway up to Montserrat. If you choose the cable car, enjoy the scenic views as you ascend. Once at the top, follow the signs to the Monestir de Santa Cecília de Montserrat, which is a short walk from the cable car station.
Bus
From the city center, you can take the FGC train from Plaça de Catalunya to the Monistrol de Montserrat station. This journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Monistrol de Montserrat, follow the signs to the Monestir de Santa Cecília de Montserrat, which is about a 20-minute walk uphill. Alternatively, you can catch a local bus from the station that goes directly to the monastery.
