If you are driving from Bilbao, take the A-68 highway heading towards Vitoria-Gasteiz. Continue on A-68 for about 60 km until you reach the exit for Vitoria-Gasteiz. Follow signs for the N-1 road, which will lead you into the city. Once you approach Vitoria-Gasteiz, stay on the N-1 until you reach the city center. Look for signs pointing to Santa Maria Plaza, where the cathedral is located. There is public parking available nearby; once parked, it's a short walk to the cathedral.
Public Transportation
To reach Santa Maria Cathedral using public transportation from Bilbao, head to the Termibus bus station and take a bus to Vitoria-Gasteiz. The journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Vitoria-Gasteiz bus station, exit the station and walk towards the city center. Follow signs for Santa Maria Plaza; it’s approximately a 15-minute walk. Alternatively, you can take a local bus from the station to the Plaza, which may take a few minutes.
Car
If you are traveling from San Sebastián, take the A-1 highway towards Vitoria-Gasteiz. After about 100 km, take the exit towards Vitoria-Gasteiz. Follow the signs for the city center and Santa Maria Plaza. Once in the city, you can find parking options nearby that will allow you to walk to the cathedral.
Public Transportation
From San Sebastián, go to the main bus station (Estación de Autobuses) and catch a bus to Vitoria-Gasteiz. The trip will take roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Vitoria-Gasteiz bus station, exit and walk towards Santa Maria Plaza. It is around a 15-minute walk, or you can take a local bus that stops nearby.
