From Bilbao, head to the Bilbao Abando Train Station (Estación de Abando), located in the city center. You can take the metro (Line 1) to 'Abando' station. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Mundaka, which usually requires a transfer at the 'Guernica' station. The train to Mundaka typically runs every 30 minutes. Enjoy the scenic ride, which takes about 50 minutes. Upon arrival at the Mundaka train station, exit the station and walk straight for approximately 10 minutes to reach Playa de Mundaka, following the signs towards the beach.

From central Bilbao, head to the Termibus Bus Station, which is located at Avenida de Gasteiz. You can reach this station via the metro (Line 1 to 'San Mamés' and transfer to Line 2). At Termibus, look for buses heading to Mundaka (check the schedules for the 'Bizkaibus' service). The journey takes about 50 minutes. Disembark at the Mundaka bus stop, and from there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to Playa de Mundaka. Just head straight and follow the signs to the beach.

Ferry
An alternative scenic route is to take a ferry from Bilbao to Getxo, which is a lovely coastal town. Begin your trip at the Bilbao Maritime Terminal (Terminal Marítimo de Bilbao). After arriving in Getxo, take the local train (C1 line) from Getxo to Mundaka. This train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Mundaka station, walk for approximately 10 minutes to reach Playa de Mundaka, following the signs to the beach.
