Continue on the A-67 for about 25 kilometers and take the exit towards A-8, following signs for Bilbao. Stay on the A-8 for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the exit for Santillana del Mar/Cabezon de la Sal. Take the exit, and merge onto the N-611 road. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you see signs for Playa del Puntal. Turn right onto Calle el Puntal, where you will find the beach. Keep in mind that parking may incur costs, typically around 2-3 euros per hour.

To reach Playa del Puntal using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Santander to the town of Somo. This bus service is operated by ALSA, and buses leave from the Estación de Autobuses in Santander. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Somo, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Playa del Puntal, which is approximately 2 kilometers away.
