Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by entering the A-7 motorway from your current location in Catalonia. Follow the A-7 towards Vilafranca del Penedès. Take exit 28 for Vilafranca del Penedès, and merge onto C-15. Continue on C-15 until you reach the city. Follow signs for the city center and then for Plaça de Jaume I. You will find the Basílica de Santa Maria located at Plaça de Jaume I, S/N, 08720 Vilafranca del Penedès. There is limited street parking available around the area, which may incur costs depending on the parking rules.

• Train

  For those traveling by public transportation, take a train from Barcelona Sants station to Vilafranca del Penedès. Look for the R4 line, which services this route. The journey will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Vilafranca del Penedès train station, exit the station and walk towards Plaça de Jaume I, which will take around 15 minutes. The Basílica de Santa Maria is located in the square at the end of your walk.

• Bus

  Alternatively, you can take a bus from various locations in Catalonia, including Barcelona. Check the schedules for the buses operated by the company that services the Vilafranca del Penedès route. Once you arrive at the bus station in Vilafranca, you can walk to Plaça de Jaume I, which is about a 10-minute walk. The Basílica de Santa Maria is at the center of the square.
