To reach Pineda de Mar from Girona, start by heading to the Girona train station, located at Carrer de Pau Casals, 5. Once there, purchase a ticket for the R1 line towards Maçanet-Massanes. Trains run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. Board the train and enjoy the scenic ride along the Costa Brava. After about 40 minutes, you'll arrive at Pineda de Mar station. From the station, it's a short 10-minute walk to the beach and town center. Simply exit the station, turn left onto Carrer de la Riera, continue straight until you reach the waterfront.
Bus
Another option is to take a bus from Girona to Pineda de Mar. Begin at the Girona bus station, located at Estació d'Autobusos, Carrer de Joan Maragall, 5. Look for the bus service operated by 'Sagalés' or 'Moventis' that travels to Pineda de Mar. Buses leave regularly throughout the day, and the journey will take about 1 hour. Upon arriving at Pineda de Mar, disembark at the main bus stop in the town center. From there, you can easily walk to the beach or explore the town.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Girona. You can find rental shops near the city center. Once you have a bike, follow the bike paths heading south towards the coast. The route takes you through beautiful landscapes, and the distance to Pineda de Mar is approximately 40 km, which might take around 2.5 hours. Upon arriving in Pineda de Mar, you can lock your bicycle and enjoy the beach or nearby attractions.
