Bus
From Girona city center, head to the Estació d'Autobusos (Bus Station) located at Carrer de Pau Casals, 2. You can either walk (about 15 minutes) or take a local bus to reach the station. Once at the bus station, look for the buses heading to Besalú. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. When you arrive at the Besalú bus stop, exit the bus and walk straight for about 5 minutes. You will reach Plaça del Prat de Sant Pere, where the Sant Pere Monastery is located.
Train and Bus
Start from Girona's main train station, Estació de Girona, located at Carrer de Barcelona, 1. Take a train to the nearest station to Besalú, which is the 'Hostalric' station. Upon arrival at Hostalric, transfer to a local bus service that goes directly to Besalú. The bus ride will take around 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Besalú, walk for about 10 minutes to reach Plaça del Prat de Sant Pere, where you will find the Sant Pere Monastery.
Taxi
You can book a taxi from your location in Girona to Besalú. Taxis are available throughout the city, and you can either hail one on the street or call for a taxi service. The drive to Plaça del Prat de Sant Pere, Besalú takes about 30 minutes. Be sure to confirm the address with the driver to ensure they take you directly to the monastery.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and want to enjoy the scenery, you can walk to Besalú from Girona. This will take approximately 2 hours. Start from the city center and head northwest following the signs towards the countryside roads. Keep walking in the direction of Besalú, passing through beautiful landscapes. You will reach the town and once there, continue walking until you arrive at Plaça del Prat de Sant Pere.
