Car
If you are driving, start by heading towards the A-5 highway from your current location in Madrid Community. Follow the signs for A-5 and continue on it for about 10 km. Take exit 3 for A-42 towards Madrid/Toledo. Merge onto A-42 and continue for about 8 km. Take the exit toward M-30 and merge onto M-30. Stay on M-30 for about 5 km, then take exit 9 towards A-1. Continue straight onto Calle de Vallehermoso, then turn left onto Calle de Cristino Martos. You will arrive at Plaza de Cristino Martos, where Fuente de los Afligidos is located. Be mindful of parking regulations in the area, as there may be parking fees.
Public Transportation
To reach Fuente de los Afligidos using public transportation, begin by finding the nearest metro station. Take Line 3 (the Green Line) towards Villaverde Alto and transfer at the 'Legazpi' station to Line 6 (the Circular Line). Travel towards 'Moncloa' and get off at 'Moncloa' station. From there, you can catch bus number 62 towards 'Cuatro Caminos' and get off at the 'Cristino Martos' bus stop. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to Plaza de Cristino Martos, where Fuente de los Afligidos is situated. The total travel time should be around 40-50 minutes, depending on connection times.
