Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near the Retiro Park, head towards the main entrance located at Plaza de la Independencia. Once you are at the entrance, walk straight down towards the park. Follow the path towards the lake area and keep walking in the direction of the large monument to Alfonso XII. As you approach the monument, you will see a path leading you towards C. de Alfonso XII. Continue walking along this road, and Spain Gate will be located at C. de Alfonso XII, 1, on your left-hand side.

  • Public Transport - Metro

    To reach Spain Gate using the metro, find the nearest metro station to your location in Retiro. You can take Line 2 (the red line) from Retiro station towards Cuatro Caminos. Alight at the next stop, which is Banco de España. From there, walk towards C. de Alfonso XII, which is approximately a 10-minute walk. Head down Calle de Alcalá until you reach the intersection, then turn left onto C. de Alfonso XII. Spain Gate will be on your right.

    If you prefer to take a bus, find the nearest bus stop that services the area. Look for bus lines 20 or 26, which both stop near Retiro Park.
