Bus
From Málaga city center, head to the main bus station, Estación de Autobuses de Málaga, located at Paseo de los Tilos, 1. You can reach the bus station by walking or taking a short taxi ride. Once at the bus station, look for the bus line that goes to Mijas Pueblo. The most common line is the M-119 which departs frequently. Purchase your ticket at the counter or from the machine. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the last stop in Mijas Pueblo.
Train and Bus
Take the train from Málaga Centro Alameda station to Fuengirola. The train station is accessible by walking or local buses from the city center. Once you arrive in Fuengirola, head to the bus terminal located adjacent to the train station. Here, you can catch the bus to Mijas Pueblo, which is a short 15-minute ride. Make sure to check the bus schedule as it may vary.
Taxi
You can also take a taxi directly from anywhere in Málaga to Mijas Pueblo. Taxis are readily available throughout the city, and you can either hail one on the street or book one via a local taxi app. The journey will take around 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Just tell the driver you want to go to Mijas Pueblo, and they will take you directly there.
Walking
If you are staying in nearby areas such as Fuengirola and feel adventurous, you could consider walking to Mijas Pueblo. From Fuengirola, follow the signs to the Mijas road (A-387), which leads you up the hill. It's about a 9 km journey, so ensure you are prepared for a hike, and bring plenty of water. The views along the way are rewarding!
