Getting There

  • Car

    From Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, head towards the N-260 road. Follow the signs for A-138 towards France. Continue on A-138 until you reach the junction with D-918. Take D-918 towards Bagnères-de-Bigorre. As you approach Bagnères-de-Bigorre, follow the signs to Pic du Midi Observatory. Parking is available at the base station, where you will then need to take a cable car to the observatory. Note that there is a fee for parking and the cable car ride.

  • Public Transportation

    From the nearest bus station in Torla, take the bus to Bagnères-de-Bigorre. Once you arrive, you will need to walk to the base station of the Pic du Midi cable car. The walk is approximately 1.5 km. At the base station, purchase your ticket for the cable car to reach the observatory. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as services may be limited, especially outside of peak tourist seasons.

  • Combination of Car and Cable Car

    If you are driving, head to the town of La Mongie, which is the closest access point to the Pic du Midi Observatory. From Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, take the N-260 and then A-138 to get to D-918. Follow D-918 until you reach La Mongie. There is parking available near the cable car station. After parking, board the cable car, which takes you directly to the observatory. Again, both parking and the cable car have associated fees.
