Walking
From the heart of Antiguo, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located at Avenida de la Libertad. Board the L21 bus, which will take you towards the center. Get off at the stop 'Martutene' (about a 5-minute ride). From there, follow the signs leading towards the Castillo de la Mota. The walk will take approximately 20 minutes uphill. As you ascend, you'll enjoy stunning views of the city and the sea. Keep an eye on the signs; they will guide you to Motako Gaztelua.

Public Transport
Alternatively, you can take the L20 bus from Antiguo towards the city center. Get off at the 'Paseo de la Concha' stop. From there, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or catch a taxi to the base of the hill where Motako Gaztelua is located. The taxi ride will be around 7-10 minutes and will cost approximately €7-€10. After reaching the base, follow the marked trail upwards to reach the castle.

For the adventurous, you can hike directly from Antiguo. Start at the Urumea River and follow the path that leads to the hill. The hike will take around 40-50 minutes. Take the path that runs parallel to the river initially, then veer left towards the Castillo de la Mota. This route is scenic, offering plenty of nature views as you make your way to Motako Gaztelua.
