If you are driving from the center of Ampara District, head northwest on Main Street towards the A11 highway. Continue on the A11 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction near Polonnaruwa. Take the exit towards Polonnaruwa and follow the signs for the Archaeological Museum Complex. Upon arrival, you will find parking available nearby.
Public Transportation - Bus
From Ampara Town, head to the Ampara Bus Station. Look for buses heading to Polonnaruwa. The journey will take around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Polonnaruwa Bus Stand, you can take a tuk-tuk or walk to the Archaeological Museum Complex, which is approximately 2 kilometers away. Tuk-tuk rides should cost around 200 LKR.
