Getting There

  • Car

    From any point in Ampara District, head towards Batticaloa on the A4 highway. This is the main road connecting the two regions. The drive will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Look for signs pointing towards Batticaloa as you approach the city. Once in Batticaloa, follow the signs to Fort Road. The Fort will be located at PP62+PRH, Fort Road. There is parking available near the fort.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Ampara to Batticaloa. Buses frequently depart from the main bus stand in Ampara and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Look for buses heading towards Batticaloa, which are often labeled with the destination. Once you arrive at the Batticaloa bus station, you can either take a tuk-tuk or walk to Fort Road, which is roughly a 15-minute walk. The fort is located at PP62+PRH, Fort Road.
