Car
From the center of Ampara, head northeast on Main Street (A4). Continue for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the town of Nintavur. Once in Nintavur, look for Deeghavapi Temple Road. Turn left onto this road and continue for another 2 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Deegawapi Raja Maha Vihara as you approach. There is ample parking available near the temple.
Public Transportation
From Ampara town, take a local bus heading towards Nintavur. Buses to Nintavur are frequent and cost around 30 LKR. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Nintavur, ask the bus conductor to drop you off near Deeghavapi Temple Road. From there, it's a short walk (approximately 15-20 minutes) to the temple. Follow the signs directing you towards Deegawapi Raja Maha Vihara.
Tuk-Tuk
For a more personalized experience, you can hire a tuk-tuk from Ampara to Deegawapi Raja Maha Vihara. The fare is typically around 1,500 LKR, and the ride takes about 30 minutes. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey. The driver will take you directly to the temple entrance, making it a convenient option.
