Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Anuradhapura, head north towards the main road, Hospital Road. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with the Madagalla Road. Turn left onto Madagalla Road and walk for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and small eateries along the way. After 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the junction of Nellikulama Road. Turn right onto Nellikulama Road and continue walking for about 2 kilometers, where you will see signs pointing towards Nellikulama Temple. The temple will be on your left side, approximately 500 meters past the village of Nellikulama.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Anuradhapura. Start from the city center and cycle north towards Hospital Road. Continue on Hospital Road until you reach the intersection with Madagalla Road. Take a left onto Madagalla Road and cycle for approximately 1.5 kilometers. At the junction with Nellikulama Road, turn right and cycle for about 2 kilometers. As you approach the village of Nellikulama, look for signs to Nellikulama Temple, which will be on your left after you pass through the village.

    Find a tuk-tuk stand in the city center of Anuradhapura. Inform the driver that you would like to go to Nellikulama Temple.
