If you are starting from the Anuradhapura Railway Station, exit the station and head south on Station Road. Continue straight for about 1.2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the Colombo-Anuradhapura Road (A9). Cross over to the opposite side and take the road leading towards the Abayagiri Monastery. Follow the signs for Abayagiri Monastery, which is about 2 kilometers away. Keep an eye out for the large stupas and ancient ruins as you approach. Once you reach the monastery complex, look for the Main Refectory which will be clearly marked.

From the Anuradhapura Bus Station, start by heading east on the Main Street. Continue straight for approximately 800 meters until you reach the junction with the A9 road. At the junction, turn left onto A9 and walk for about 1 kilometer. You will see signs for the Abayagiri Monastery on your right.
