    From the center of Anuradhapura, head north on the Main Street (Maha Wewa Road) towards the 'Nuwara Wewa' tank. Continue straight for about 4 kilometers until you reach the junction with 'Kandy Road' (A9). Turn right onto Kandy Road and walk for about 1 kilometer. You will see signs indicating the way to Wilpattu National Park. Continue following these signs for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the entrance at Pahala Maragahawewa.

    If you have rented a bicycle, start from the town center and cycle north along the Main Street (Maha Wewa Road). Keep cycling straight for about 4 kilometers until you hit the junction with 'Kandy Road' (A9). Turn right onto Kandy Road and continue for about 1 kilometer. Look for the signs for Wilpattu National Park, and follow them for another 2 kilometers until you arrive at the entrance.

  • Tuk-tuk

    For a more comfortable option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Anuradhapura. Tell the driver you want to go to the Wilpattu National Park entrance at Pahala Maragahawewa.
