Car
If you are driving from Badulla town, head towards the A5 road. Follow the A5 road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for the Narangala Mountain hike. Look for signs or ask locals for 'Narangala Mountain.' Once you turn off, continue on the smaller road for about 2 kilometers until you reach the base of the mountain. Parking is available at the trailhead.
Public Transportation
From Badulla town, take a local bus heading towards Mahiyanganaya. Inform the bus driver that you want to stop at Narangala. The bus ride should take about 30 minutes. Once you get off at the Narangala stop, you can either walk the remaining distance (about 2 kilometers) to the base of the mountain or look for a three-wheeler (tuk-tuk) to take you there. The fare for a tuk-tuk should be around 200-300 LKR.
Walking
If you have reached the base of Narangala Mountain either by car or tuk-tuk, begin your hike from the designated trailhead. The hike is approximately 3 kilometers to the summit and can take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your fitness level. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and carry water for the trek.
