Tuk-Tuk
From any point in Bentota, look for a tuk-tuk driver or a designated tuk-tuk stop. Inform the driver that you want to go to Galle Lighthouse. The trip will take approximately 30-40 minutes. You can ask the driver to drop you off at the Galle Fort area, which is very close to the lighthouse. Once you arrive at Galle Fort, walk towards the sea, and you will see the lighthouse at the edge of the fort.
Bus
Head to the Bentota Bus Station, which is located near the main road. Look for a bus heading to Galle (the buses are usually marked with 'Galle'). Board the bus, and keep an eye on the stops as you travel. The journey will take about 45 minutes. Get off at the Galle bus station. From the bus station, you can either walk to Galle Fort (about a 15-minute walk) or take a tuk-tuk for a short ride to the lighthouse area.
Walk
If you are in the Bentota area and prefer walking, head towards the Galle Road (A2 highway) and follow it south towards Galle. This walk is quite long, approximately 20 kilometers, so it may take around 4-5 hours. You will pass through scenic coastal areas. Once you reach Galle, follow the signs to Galle Fort, where the lighthouse is located.
