Walking
If you are starting from Bentota Beach, head east along the beach road (Galle Rd) towards Beruwala. Walk for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Kande Vihara Yati Rd. Turn left onto Kande Vihara Yati Rd, and continue walking for about 1 kilometer. The Kande Vihara Temple will be on your right-hand side. Look for the large Buddha statue, which is a prominent feature of the temple.

From any location in Bentota, you can easily find a tuk-tuk. Simply tell the driver 'Kande Vihara Temple' or show them the address: C2X2+P87, Kandavihara Yati Rd, Beruwala. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off right at the entrance of the temple.

To reach Kande Vihara Temple using public transport, walk to the nearest bus stop along Galle Rd. Board a bus heading towards Beruwala or Aluthgama (make sure to check that the bus stops at Beruwala). The bus ride should take around 15-20 minutes. Ask the conductor to notify you when you reach the Kande Vihara stop. Once you get off, walk a short distance along Kande Vihara Yati Rd, and the temple will be on your left.
