Public Bus
To reach Besama Beach from Colombo, start by heading to the Colombo Fort Bus Station. Look for buses heading towards Uswetakeiyawa. Buses such as route 240 will take you there. The journey takes about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you reach Uswetakeiyawa, ask the bus conductor to inform you when to get off for Besama Beach. After getting off, walk towards the beach area, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

From Colombo, take a train from Colombo Fort Railway Station towards Ragama. Check for local trains that stop at Ragama, as this will be your closest point to Uswetakeiyawa. The train journey takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ragama Station, take a tuk-tuk or a bus to Uswetakeiyawa. The tuk-tuk ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to go to Besama Beach, and they will drop you off at the beach area.
