If you are in Kollupitiya, head towards Galle Road, which is the main road in the area. Walk along Galle Road towards the south until you reach the intersection with Independence Avenue. This should take about 15-20 minutes depending on your starting point. Once you reach the intersection, turn left onto Independence Avenue. The Independence Memorial Museum is located approximately 500 meters down this road on your right-hand side.

From Kollupitiya, you can take a local bus that travels towards Cinnamon Gardens. Look for bus numbers 138, 149, or 100, which frequently pass through this area. Board the bus at any nearby bus stop. The fare is typically around 30-40 LKR. Inform the conductor or driver that you want to get off at Independence Avenue. Once you reach the stop, exit the bus and walk approximately 200 meters back towards the left along Independence Avenue to find the museum.

For a more convenient option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Kollupitiya.
