Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Dambulla, head northeast on the A9 road towards Matale. After about 15 km, look for signs indicating the turnoff to Matale. Continue on the A9, which will lead you directly into the town of Matale. Once you reach Matale, take the first left onto Koholangwela Madawala Ulpatha. The Matale Herbal & Spice Garden is located at No 25 on this road. There is usually parking available near the entrance.

    From Dambulla, you can take a bus to Matale from the Dambulla bus station. Buses to Matale run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 30-45 minutes and costs around 50 LKR. Once you arrive at the Matale bus station, exit the station and take a tuk-tuk or walk to Koholangwela Madawala Ulpatha. The garden is a short distance away, approximately 1.5 km, and you can ask the tuk-tuk driver to take you to No 25 Koholangwela Madawala Ulpatha.
