Getting There

  • Bus

    From Ella, walk to the Ella bus station, which is located near the town center. Look for buses heading towards Wellawaya or Lunugamvehera. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at the Lunugamvehera junction.

  • Walk

    Once you arrive at the Lunugamvehera junction, disembark the bus. From here, you will need to walk towards the Wildlife office. Follow the road signs indicating 'Lunugamvehera National Park.' The office is about a 2 km walk from the junction. Be aware that the terrain may be uneven, so wear comfortable shoes.

  • Tuk-Tuk

    Alternatively, after getting off the bus at Lunugamvehera junction, you can hire a tuk-tuk for a more comfortable ride to the Wildlife office. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The tuk-tuk can take you directly to the office, which should take about 10 minutes.
