If you're driving from Hambantota, take the A2 road heading towards Tissamaharama. Continue on A2 for about 35 kilometers. Once you reach Tissamaharama, look for Rubberwatte Road, which is well-signposted. Turn onto Rubberwatte Road, and you will find Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara on your left. Parking is available near the temple, but be mindful of any parking fees if applicable.

From Hambantota, head to the main bus station and look for buses heading to Tissamaharama. The buses are frequent and the journey takes about 45 minutes, costing approximately LKR 50-100. Once you arrive at Tissamaharama bus station, exit the bus and walk towards Rubberwatte Road. The temple is about a 10-minute walk from the bus station; simply follow the signs or ask locals for directions.

For a more local experience, you can hire a tuk-tuk from any location in Hambantota. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should cost around LKR 1000-1500 from Hambantota to Tissamaharama. The tuk-tuk will take you directly to Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara, and you can ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance.
