Getting There

Walking
From Galle Fort, exit through the main gate and head towards the Galle-Lunugamwehera Road. Walk straight until you reach the main junction, and take a left onto the Matara Road (A2). Continue walking for about 1.5 km. You will pass various local shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Polhena Beach. Once you reach the Polhena Beach sign, turn right and walk down the road until you see the beach entrance on your left.

Tuk-Tuk
You can easily find a tuk-tuk near Galle Fort. Simply tell the driver 'Polhena Beach.' The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. They will drop you off at the entrance of the beach. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand if not using a ride-hailing app.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Galle Fort. Head out towards the Galle-Lunugamwehera Road and then take a left onto the Matara Road (A2). Follow the same route as you would walking. The ride to Polhena Beach is about 20-25 minutes, depending on your cycling speed. Enjoy the scenery along the way!
