Tuk-Tuk
To reach Embekka Dewalaya, you can take a tuk-tuk from Kandy city center. Head to the main tuk-tuk stand near the Kandy Clock Tower. Inform the driver that you want to go to Embekka Dewalaya, located in Handessa. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes and cost around 600-800 LKR. Be sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of the temple.
Bus
You can take a bus from Kandy to Handessa to reach Embekka Dewalaya. From the Kandy Bus Station, look for buses heading to Handessa or Udunuwara. The buses are frequent, and the fare is around 50 LKR. Get off at the Handessa junction and ask locals for directions to Embekka Dewalaya, which is about a 15-minute walk from there. Follow the road signs or use a map app on your phone.
Walking
If you enjoy walking, you can start from the Kandy city center. Head towards the Kandy Lake and follow the road that goes toward the Kandy-Jaffna Highway. After about 2 kilometers, you will reach the Handessa area. Continue walking along the road for another 1 kilometer until you reach Embekka Dewalaya. This option is quite scenic but may take about an hour and a half.
