Car
If you are driving from Kilinochchi, take the A9 highway south towards Jaffna. After approximately 40 kilometers, look for the turnoff to the A32 road towards Mannar. Continue on the A32 for about 60 kilometers until you reach Mannar. From Mannar, follow the signs to Dhanushkodi, a popular tourist destination. The total drive time should be around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Note that the roads may be in varying conditions, so drive carefully.
Public Transportation
To reach Indira Point via public transport, take a bus from Kilinochchi to Mannar. Buses leave regularly from the Kilinochchi bus station and the fare is approximately 150 LKR. The journey takes about 2 hours. Once in Mannar, transfer to a local bus or a shared van heading towards Dhanushkodi. This leg of the journey may take an additional 1 to 1.5 hours and will cost around 100 LKR. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest timings.
Taxi or Ride-hailing Service
For a more comfortable journey, consider hiring a taxi or using a ride-hailing service from Kilinochchi to Dhanushkodi. The cost for this option may range from 3000 to 5000 LKR depending on the vehicle and negotiation. This option is particularly convenient if you are traveling in a group. Ensure that the driver is familiar with the route, as some areas may be less well-known.
