Car
From Kilinochchi District, get onto the A9 highway heading north towards Mannar. The drive to Mannar takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Mannar, follow the signs towards Talaimannar. You will need to take the Light House Street to reach Talaimannar Pier, where the lighthouse is located. Ensure to check the local traffic updates as road conditions can vary.
Public Transportation
Take a bus from Kilinochchi to Mannar. Buses run frequently and the journey takes about 2-3 hours. Once you arrive at Mannar bus station, you can either take a tuk-tuk or a local bus towards Talaimannar. The tuk-tuk ride will take around 30 minutes and will cost approximately 500 LKR. If you opt for the local bus, check the schedule for the next bus to Talaimannar, which should cost around 100 LKR.

If you are already in Mannar, you can hire a tuk-tuk directly to Talaimannar Lighthouse. The ride should take around 30 minutes and cost approximately 500 LKR. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
