If you're driving from Matale town, head east on the A9 highway towards Kandy. After approximately 3 kilometers, you will see a sign for Sembuwatta Lake on your left. Turn left onto Sembuwatta Lake Road. Continue straight for about 5 kilometers, following the signs for Sembuwatta Lake. The road will take you through beautiful countryside. Keep an eye out for the entrance to Sembuwatta Lake on your right.

Public Transportation
To reach Sembuwatta Lake via public transport, start at the Matale Bus Station. Take a bus heading towards Kandy and ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Sembuwatta Lake Road. This is about 3 kilometers from Matale town. From the junction, you can either walk or take a tuk-tuk for the remaining 5 kilometers to Sembuwatta Lake. The tuk-tuk drivers are familiar with the location, so just inform them that you are headed to Sembuwatta Lake.
