Car
If you are driving to Meddawata Beach, start from Matara city center. Head south on the Matara-Baddegama Road (A2) towards the coast. After approximately 2 kilometers, take a left onto the Galle Road (A2) heading towards the south coast. Continue on Galle Road for about 5 kilometers. Look for a sign indicating Meddawata Beach or follow your GPS to the coordinates: 5.9391° N, 80.5690° E. Upon reaching the location, you'll find parking available along the roadside.
Public Transportation
To reach Meddawata Beach via public transportation, head to the Matara bus station. From there, take a bus heading towards Galle. Make sure to inform the conductor to drop you off at Meddawata Beach or look for signs indicating it. The bus ride typically costs around 30-50 LKR and takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you get off, walk towards the beach, which is just a short distance away.
Tuk-Tuk
For a more personalized experience, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Matara. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Meddawata Beach. The fare should be around 200-500 LKR depending on your starting point, and the journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Tuk-tuks are available for hire near popular tourist areas and hotels.
