Car
If you are driving to Polhena Beach, start from Matara town center. Head south on the Matara - Hambantota Main Road (A2). Continue for about 2 kilometers until you reach the junction where you will see a sign for Polhena Beach. Turn left onto Beach Road and follow this road for approximately 1 kilometer. You will find Polhena Beach on your right, just after passing several local shops and restaurants.
Public Transportation
To reach Polhena Beach via public transport, head to the Matara Bus Station, which is centrally located. Look for buses heading towards Polhena or those that say 'Hambantota'. These buses are frequent and will take you directly to Polhena. After about 15-20 minutes, ask the driver to drop you off at Polhena Beach. Once you get off, walk down Beach Road for about 5 minutes, and you’ll arrive at the beach. Make sure to confirm the bus route with locals if you have any doubts.
