Car
If you are driving from Matara town, head south on the A2 highway towards Weligama. Continue for approximately 5 km. Look for signs directing you to Lakshawaththa Beach. Turn left onto a smaller road leading towards the coast. Continue straight until you reach the beach. Parking is available near the beach entrance, but be mindful of any parking fees that might apply.
Public Transportation
To reach Lakshawaththa Beach by public transport, start by taking a bus from Matara bus station to Weligama. Buses are frequent and the fare is usually around 50 LKR. Once you arrive in Weligama, you can either take a tuk-tuk for about 200 LKR to Lakshawaththa Beach or walk along the coastline for approximately 1.5 km, which takes about 20 minutes.
Tuk-Tuk
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Matara District. The fare to Lakshawaththa Beach should be around 300-400 LKR depending on your starting point. Make sure to negotiate the price before your journey.
