Getting There

Walking
From the center of Mirissa, head southeast towards the beach. Walk along the main road (Matara - Colombo Highway) for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by local shops and cafes. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Weligama Beach Road. Turn right onto Weligama Beach Road, and continue straight for about 800 meters. Weligama Beach will be on your left. Follow the road, and you will arrive at the heart of Weligama.

Tuk-Tuk
Find a tuk-tuk at one of the designated stands in Mirissa, or simply wave one down on the street. Once you’re in, tell the driver you want to go to Weligama. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. The driver will take you along the main road (Matara - Colombo Highway) and drop you off near the beach area in Weligama. Make sure to negotiate the fare before getting in.

Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle, start from the center of Mirissa and ride southeast on the main road towards Weligama. The distance is about 1.5 kilometers. After about 10 minutes of cycling, you will reach the intersection with Weligama Beach Road. Turn right and continue cycling straight for another 800 meters. Weligama Beach will be on your left side. Enjoy the ride and the scenic views along the way!

Public Bus
To take a public bus to Weligama from Mirissa, walk to the nearest bus stop on the main road. Look for buses heading towards Matara or Weligama. The bus ride will only take about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to tell the conductor that you are going to Weligama. The bus will drop you off near the beach area, from where you can easily walk to the main attractions.
