    Getting There

    Car

    If you are driving from the town of Moneragala, head northwest on the A-26 highway towards Ella. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the town of Ella. Once in Ella, follow the signs towards Rawanaella. Continue on the road until you reach the entrance to the Ella Rock trailhead. Parking is available near the trailhead, but be cautious as spaces may be limited. There may be a small fee for parking, usually around 200 LKR.

    Public Transportation

    From Moneragala, take a bus heading to Ella. The bus ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, and tickets typically cost around 100-150 LKR. Once you arrive at the Ella bus station, you can either walk or take a tuk-tuk to the Rawanaella trailhead. The walk is approximately 3 kilometers and will take about 30-40 minutes, or a tuk-tuk ride will cost around 300-500 LKR depending on your negotiation skills.

    Walking

    If you're already in Ella, you can hike to Ella Rock from the town center. Start at the Ella Railway Station and walk towards the Rawana Ella area. Follow the path along the railway track for about 1 kilometer, then take a left at the junction. The hike will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so bring water and wear appropriate hiking shoes. The trail can be steep and rocky in places, so be prepared for some challenging sections.
