Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Moneragala town and head east on the A5 road towards Badulla. Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the village of Siyambalanduwa. From there, take a left turn onto the W4 road and follow it for about 5 kilometers. You will see signs indicating the direction to Nilmini waterfall. The last stretch involves a short drive on a gravel road leading to a small parking area near the waterfall. Ensure your vehicle has good clearance as the road may be rough in some areas.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a bus from Moneragala to Badulla. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Badulla, hire a tuk-tuk to take you to Nilmini waterfall. The tuk-tuk ride should cost around 500 LKR and will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand and ask the driver to take you directly to the waterfall. The road may be bumpy, so be prepared for a bit of a ride.
Walking
If you are adventurous and enjoy hiking, consider walking from the nearest bus stop at Siyambalanduwa village. This will involve a hike of about 5 kilometers along the W4 road. The route is scenic, with plenty of greenery and local wildlife. However, ensure you have adequate water and wear suitable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven. This hike may take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.
