The buses are frequent, and you should be able to catch one within 15-30 minutes. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Bambarakanda Falls. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the nearest stop, you may need to walk about 30 minutes along the Kalupahana - Ohiya Road towards the falls.
Tuk-Tuk
If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from any point in Nuwara Eliya. Negotiate a fare with the driver to take you directly to Bambarakanda Falls. The distance is about 30 kilometers and should take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Ensure to communicate clearly with the driver about your destination.
Walking
For the adventurous, you can walk from Nuwara Eliya to Bambarakanda Falls. Start from the town center and head towards the direction of the Hawa Eliya area. Follow the Kalupahana - Ohiya Road, which leads directly to the falls. The total walking distance is approximately 10 kilometers and will take around 2.5 to 3 hours. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
