Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Nuwara Eliya city center, specifically from the Nuwara Eliya Post Office. Head southeast on Post Office Road towards the Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the traffic lights at the intersection with the A5 road. Cross carefully to the other side and turn left onto the A5 road (also known as the Nuwara Eliya – Kandy Road). Walk for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the sign for the International Buddhist Centre on your right. Turn right onto the PBC Highway and continue walking for approximately 500 meters. You will see the Stupa of the International Buddhist Centre ahead.

  • Tuk-tuk

    From your location in Nuwara Eliya, find a nearby tuk-tuk stand or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. Inform the driver that you want to go to the International Buddhist Centre on PBC Highway. The ride will take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off directly at the entrance of the Stupa, which is easily recognizable by its white dome.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Nuwara Eliya. Start at the city center, cycling southeast on Post Office Road towards the Main Street. Continue onto the A5 road (Nuwara Eliya – Kandy Road) for about 1.5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signage indicating the International Buddhist Centre. Turn right onto PBC Highway and cycle for another 500 meters until you reach the Stupa.
