Getting There

Walking
From the center of Nuwara Eliya, start at the famous Nuwara Eliya Post Office located on the corner of Post Office Road and St. Andrew's Road. Head south on St. Andrew's Road until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Lake Gregory Road. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach a junction. At the junction, take a left onto Ranhawadigama Road. Follow Ranhawadigama Road for approximately 2 kilometers. You will see the entrance to Moon Plains on your right. It's a pleasant walk through the scenic landscape of Nuwara Eliya.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Nuwara Eliya. Start from the central park area of Nuwara Eliya and ride down towards the main road. Head south on Post Office Road and then take a left on to Lake Gregory Road. Continue riding straight for about 1.5 kilometers. When you reach the junction, turn left onto Ranhawadigama Road. Cycle for another 2 kilometers, and you will find the entrance to Moon Plains on your right. The ride offers beautiful views and fresh mountain air.

Tuk-Tuk
To reach Moon Plains via a tuk-tuk, find a tuk-tuk stand near the Nuwara Eliya market or call a local driver. Inform them you want to go to Moon Plains, located on Ranhawadigama Road. The driver will take you directly there. The ride should take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Enjoy the scenic views along the way.

Public Bus
Take a public bus from the Nuwara Eliya bus station heading towards Ranhawadigama. Buses depart frequently, and you can ask any local for directions to the right bus. Inform the bus conductor that you would like to get off at Moon Plains. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive, walk a short distance to the entrance of Moon Plains. Be sure to check the bus schedules for the return trip.
