Walking
Starting from the center of Nuwara Eliya at the Grand Hotel, head east on the Main Street (also known as A5 Road). Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the L. H. S. M. School. Turn left onto the road that leads up towards the hills. Follow this road for approximately 500 meters until you see a sign indicating Single Tree Hill. From here, the path becomes steeper; continue on the well-marked trail which will lead you directly to the summit where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Nuwara Eliya. Start from the city center and ride along the Main Street (A5 Road) heading east. After about 1 kilometer, turn left onto the road leading up towards the hills. Continue cycling for approximately 500 meters. As the road becomes steeper, if you find it too challenging to cycle, it is advisable to park your bike and continue on foot. Follow the marked trail to reach Single Tree Hill.
Tuk-Tuk
For a more relaxed journey, consider taking a Tuk-Tuk from any point in Nuwara Eliya. Inform the driver that you want to go to Single Tree Hill. The driver will navigate through the town and take you to the base of the hill. Once you arrive, you will need to walk the last part of the journey. The path is well-marked, and it will take about 20-30 minutes to reach the top from the drop-off point.
