Getting There

  • Car

    From Polonnaruwa, head west on the A11 road towards Dambulla. Continue for about 30 kilometers. Once you reach Dambulla, look for the signs directing you to Minneriya National Park. The park entrance is approximately 15 kilometers from Dambulla along the A9 road. Follow the signs for the park entrance at 296 Thiththawalgolla, Dambulla 21100. Parking is available at the entrance.

  • Public Transport

    From Polonnaruwa, take a bus heading to Dambulla. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station in Polonnaruwa. The journey will take around 1 hour and cost approximately 100 LKR. Upon arriving in Dambulla, you can either take a tuk-tuk (approximately 600 LKR for a 15 km ride) or a taxi to reach the entrance of Minneriya National Park at 296 Thiththawalgolla, Dambulla 21100. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are taking you directly to the park entrance.
